Don’t let damp build up, and keep dust under control

Autumn and winter often mean higher levels of damp on the building site. Rain, low temperatures and residual moisture in the materials can affect both progress and quality if left unchecked. At the same time, drilling, grinding and chiselling generate large amounts of dust, which affects the working environment and makes cleaning more demanding. The right equipment can save you time, money and problems down the line.

Effective building drying is more than just a dehumidifier

The dehumidifier extracts moisture from the air, whilst the fans ensure that the air circulates throughout the room. This combination results in a more even and significantly more efficient drying process. A simple guide:

  1. Define the area which needs to be dried.
  2. Choose a dehumidifier with the right capacity. Condensation dehumidifiers are available in several sizes, such as PNA35, PNA55 and PNA70, so that the capacity can be adapted to the area.
  3. Ensure good air circulation with fans, such as Proff Axial fans.
  4. Keep doors and windows closed whilst the drying process is underway.
  5. Measure the humidity as you go along with a moisture meter, don’t rely on your gut feeling. Materials can look dry long before they actually are.

Keep construction dust under control

Dust is quickly generated during drilling, grinding, sawing and renovation work. With the right vacuum cleaner, the dust is collected as close as possible to where it is generated. Ronda industrial vacuum cleaners has been developed for demanding use on construction sites, from fine dust generated by grinding and drilling to coarse dust, construction waste and dust collection directly from the machinery. Less dust in the air means a better working environment, a cleaner construction site and less time spent on tidying up.

Once the water has got in

Water ingress on a building site requires swift action. With pumps, water vacuums, dehumidifiers, with dehumidifiers and moisture meters, you’ll have all the equipment you need throughout the process, from removing the water to confirming that the structure is actually dry.
